Tracing the Footsteps of the General Secretary—Tongcheng’s Six-Foot Alley
On October 23, the Party branch of Jinxi New Materials Company held a unique Party-building activity. This event was designed to echo the spirit emphasized by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his recent inspection tour of Anhui Province. By visiting and studying the historical and cultural sites in Tongcheng, the activity aims to promote China’s outstanding traditional culture—particularly the fine virtues of the Chinese nation, which emphasize courtesy, humility, and the pursuit of harmony and peace.

On October 23, the Party branch of Jinxi New Materials Company held a unique Party-building activity. This event was designed to echo the spirit emphasized by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his recent inspection tour of Anhui Province. By visiting and studying historical and cultural sites in Tongcheng, the activity aims to promote China’s outstanding traditional culture—particularly the fine virtues of the Chinese nation, which emphasize courtesy, humility, and the value of harmony.
As the first stop on this trip, the Six-Foot Alley is renowned for its unique historical background and its profoundly meaningful story of mediation. Here, we find recounted the tale of how ancient neighbors once resolved land disputes—and thereby avoided conflict—through wisdom and tolerance, perfectly embodying the principle that “harmony is paramount.” Members of the Party branch deeply realized here the importance of adopting a harmonious and consultative approach when addressing internal contradictions among the people.
Afterward, everyone headed to the Tongcheng Confucian Temple and the Tongcheng Museum to continue our cultural journey. At these two sites, members of the branch were able to get up close and learn more about China’s long history and the profound philosophies it embodies.
This event received high praise from all participants. They unanimously expressed that receiving education through such an intuitive and engaging format has given them a fresh perspective on how to better integrate these precious cultural legacies into their daily lives and work.
