High-temperature nylon (HTPA) is a heat-resistant polyamide that can be used continuously in environments up to 150°C. High-performance semi-aromatic polyamides are semicrystalline polymers produced via polycondensation reactions between dicarboxylic acids containing benzene rings (typically terephthalic acid) and aliphatic diamines. Compared to standard nylons, these materials exhibit superior mechanical and electrical properties under conditions of high temperature, high humidity, and chemical corrosion.
