Product Details

Polystyrene (PS) is a colorless, transparent thermoplastic polymer synthesized via free-radical addition polymerization of styrene monomers. It is characterized by its glossy appearance, non-toxicity, odorlessness, excellent chemical stability, high transparency, exceptionally high light transmittance, strong colorability, and good flow properties. Typically, it employs a pinpoint gate system for injection molding. Polystyrene also exhibits excellent dielectric properties and is currently considered the ideal polymer for high-frequency electrical applications. As a colorless, transparent thermoplastic, polystyrene has a glass transition temperature exceeding 100°C, making it frequently used to manufacture disposable containers designed to withstand boiling water temperatures. Polystyrene encompasses several types, including general-purpose polystyrene, expanded polystyrene (EPS), high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), and syndiotactic polystyrene (SPS).
